Candy Corn Smoothie
Halloween is my favorite time of the year! It’s more than just a holiday for me, it’s a season that lasts until October.
I also love sweet corn! I have always liked it, even when I was a child. I know everything is sugar and who knows what! Usually, I buy a small bag as a gift once a year.
Of course, I had to make a milkshake that suggested sweet corn. While this recipe does not have a similar flavor, it tastes great! I love the change of flavors while you drink it, and the colors! Oh, and it’s really good for you!
The Yellow Layer
- 1/2 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup pineapple, chopped
- 2 ounces of almond milk (just enough to blend the pineapple)
The Orange Layer
- 1 cup papaya, cubed
- 1 large carrot, chopped
- 1 ounce almond milk (only if you need extra liquid to blend the carrot)
The White Layer
- 4 ounces vanilla almond milk *
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
Start by adding the ingredients of the yellow layer to your blender. You want this layer to be thick so that it keeps the two upper layers.
Mix and divide it between the two glasses. Place them in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
Next, add the ingredients for the orange layer to your blender. Mix using only enough liquid to make sure all the carrot is mixed. You can grate the carrot before mixing it if you do not have a high-speed blender.
Remove the glasses with the yellow layer from the freezer and with a spoon, gently place the orange layer on the yellow layer.
Replace the glasses in the freezer and mix your white layer. Repeat the previous step and gently place the white layer on the orange layer.
I used vanilla and almond milk to give a little more flavor to the white layer, I would not use the vanilla extract, as it is likely to be a whitish color.
